I can not believe that this is happening yet again. I am
just so bored, or is it that bad luck is my second shadow. i am so bored right
now. I could not watch my favourite soap opera, Mentir Para Vivir last week
because of some power blackout in my room, and now that the problem has been
solved, the channel,Citizen TV that airs it daily as from 8pm has been shutdown
by the Communications Authority of Kenya for transmission of analogue signals.
Everybody, including me loves a change and that is why we are all looking
forward to vision 2030, an era where almost everything is digitized but this
case is different altogether. As i wake up every morning, i bow down for a word
of prayer, with the hope that something great is in store for me and that by
evening, i will be seated in front of the screen, catching up on my favourite
program. Anyway, all hope is not lost, for tomorrow seems quite promising,
infact,i am waiting for 'tomorrow' with so much zeal and anxiety as the clock
ticks with the passage of time, who knows, it may be my lucky day.
The Communication Authority of Kenya should really be considerate to the many viewers who anxiously look forward to the problem of the anticipated " Digital migration" being solved once and for all.
ReplyDeletewhy do Kenyans like taking the last minute rash? if Tanzania our neighboring country migrated from analogue to digital long time ago. are not better than Tanzania economically? CAK should be left to implement what is entailed in the international law of communication.
ReplyDeleteyea, infact a majority of the audience prefer watching programs from the channels that have been shut down. There should have been a dialogue or some negotiations first before the shutdown.
ReplyDeletecorrect
ReplyDeleteReuben I normally differ with you on several issues but today I must admit I totally conquer with you on this one. Ignorance is one of the characteristics of the Kenyans. You see the problem with the Africans and particularly Kenyans we do not believe at once we tend to negotiate even on something that is starting forward. how many times have the announcements about the switching off been made? This habit of not believing and tending to negotiate will even cost us going to heaven...when others are on their way singing Hallelujah to heaven we shall negotiate with God to allow us some three or two months.
ReplyDeleteahahaha, you have a point there.
