SIGNS OF AN APPROACHING WEEKEND.

 








“Dalili ya mawingu ni mvua (clouds are the signs of rain),” they say. There are specific things that seem to tell what is way ahead. I know you are not getting me here, let me give a scenario. On the eve of a graduation day, its always a tradition that tents are already pitched on the graduation ground and when one sees that, then he/she is sure that a graduation is to be held the following day.

In campus, it is so easy to know that a weekend is approaching. A few signs that signify that a weekend is around the corner are as follows;

    
 1) Hanging lines are full, I mean to the brim.

The hanging lines are always almost empty but as the weekend approaches, it all of sudden gets full, with all sorts of washed clothes.

   
 2) Students are seen leisurely walking in groups.

Monday morning looks like the pavements are infested by feet-biting bugs because almost everyone walks alone at a very fast pace until others even fall because of that.

   
 3) Official attire in students are rarely seen.

As the weekend approaches, one can easily know that this is a campus. Mondays and Tuesdays have students dressed very officially that they can be confused for employees rushing off to their respective places of work.

  
 4) Lecture halls are less than a quarter full.

Many students adore their sleep towards the weekend and skipping one or two lectures is not that much a big deal.

 5) “F2”, “kadundaa” and “frakaz” are common clichés.

As the weekend approach, you hear Johnny saying that he is off to frakaz, Joan off to F2 and others to attend a kadundaa. Basically, everyone wants to have fun.
