It was a day
well spent. The trek to the spot was quite long and tiresome but due to the
fact that we were many and a lot of conversations were being exchanged, we
found ourselves at the spot earlier than expected.
Saturday is
always a day when everyone is free more especially when there are no assignments
to be submitted on a Monday. Some students decide to stay in bed until noon,
others watch movies and others go for shopping at Cheboiywa market while others
decide to go for a stroll. This particular Saturday, I had gone on a picnic
with a group of friends, heading to the Water Treatment Plant area.
I have come
to realize that a day well spent is that spent with friends. The sun was
scorching but that did not stop us from playing all sorts of games and a
particular game reminded me of my childhood. How I envy those years when I was
young! If it was possible to rewind the past, then I would be the happiest
person. Anyway, am still young because I can walk, play and do everything that
I fancy so I want to maximize that before old age comes knocking at my door.
4 pm is when
we headed back to campus, all sweaty and exhausted and thanks to the cool breeze
that kept blowing towards our direction. A few metres from where we were is the
treatment plant, if you go next to it, a deadly waft greets your nostrils. A
few cattle graze by and children are seen collecting firewood.
That’s how I
spent my Saturday, how did you spend yours?
hey picnic, you could have invited us
