Hostel K, room 450, it takes ages to enter the room
because of the dozens of stairs all the way from ground floor to the 4rd
floor. The room is big, but it seems
much smaller because of the number of things in it. *Dora*, the owner of the
room, looks like a storekeeper since she has the largest number of luggage that
I have ever seen possessed by a student.
The room is beautifully decorated, just as most
ladies like experimenting with graphic designs in their rooms. Despite the fact
that there are lots of luggage there, they are nicely arranged on one corner.
Utensils are kept in clean utensil trays and the bed well spread. Generally,
what I am trying to portray is that the room is spotlessly clean.
Most rooms within the hostels are spotless while some
are wanting but most students keep their rooms well maintained (credit goes to
their mums for the good job they do while raising them up).
It’s not a surprise
to find a cockroach infested room, all sorts of foodstuff scattered across the
floor, dirty utensils welcoming visitors from the doorstep and clothing lying
in a heap in a corner. No one is to blame here, for we were not brought up in
the same way, we are all unique in our own ways.
The next time you meet a friend and she/he looks
like a beauty, think twice for the outward appearance does not always reflect
the inward appearance but I am not sending a message that we spy on our
friends, I would hate it when friends break-up because of nosiness.
I dream of a day Moi University shall introduce us lifts for we are also human beings, not cats at all.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds quite unrealistic but its food for thought, for its quite difficult at times ascending those numerous stairs.
ReplyDeleteHygiene is the most sensitive practice that should be put into consideration, without it diseases will be the talk of the time
