The lady, of
Chinese origin moves her fingers and feet so easily that one will think that salsa is a dance to learn in a matter of minutes. It may be so for some but for
a majority, it requires serious training.
Many
students were this Saturday morning being trained by the lady at the students’ Center.
I was just passing by but my attraction was drawn, and I stood there like a
statue, half wishing that I was in the team being trained. I loved the slow
moves and I could not help but giggle when some of the trainees moved as if
their bones were tied tight by strings of wire, another was almost falling to
the ground after entangling the left leg with the right leg.
A soft tune
played in the background, lulling observers into a daydream. I sometimes wonder
whether some people were created with something like rubber in place bones. Come
to think of it, I know you have witnessed a dancer who dances so well and no
style seems like a hard nut to crack to that dancer. You try those moves and
end up feeling all embarrassed because you can’t do half of what the dancer did
right?
I have heard
many suggest that they want to enroll for a salsa dance training. I don’t know
whether they want to do that for fun or so as to be noticed as unique because
salsa dancing is something like Greek to many.
As the
training continues, who knows, I may find myself in the team sooner than later
because I definitely love salsa dance.
